I was born in Germany in 1958 and migrated to the Barossa Valley in Australia in 1987. I worked for over 36 years in IT and apart from occasional school works, way back, I never painted any pictures. However, I always appreciated and admired works by many artists. In May 2020, aged 62, I finally decided to put oil paint to a canvas. Luckily, a great number of excellent artists provide tips and information regards the art of oil painting on the internet. I was able to pick up good techniques and finished my first oil painting just in time as a present for my daughter's birthday. To my delight, she liked it very much. With every painting since, I continue to learn. |
